wonderful astronomical phenomenon adorns the sky

Many astronomical phenomena are witnessed by the globe and awaited by lovers of looking at them in different countries of the world, to enjoy seeing them through the naked eye or a space telescope.

Fans of the world of astronomy and space can watch the last astronomical phenomenon this month, which is the conjugation of the thin crescent moon with Mars on January 29, in wonderful scenes that astronomers confirmed as enjoyable, provided that the air is clear and the sky is free of clouds, dust and water vapor.

The delicate crescent moon is associated with Mars at dawn on that day, as this scene can be seen where the moon first rises at 4:15 am, then Mars rises at 4:40 am and they are next to each other until the morning twilight becomes stronger, according to Dr. Ashraf Tadros, Professor astronomy

Tadros explained to "Al-Ittihad" that the conjunction is the approach of a celestial body to another celestial body within a number of arc degrees when they are viewed from the Earth, adding that it is an unreal apparent angular approach. As for the real distance between these two bodies, it is very large, estimated at hundreds of millions or billions of kilometers.

The sky of the Arab region witnessed several astronomical conjunctions during this month, most notably the conjunction of the Moon with Saturn on January 4, then Jupiter on January 6, then rose in the sky and appeared squared on January 9.

The Egyptian professor of astronomy, Dr. Ashraf Tadros, encouraged young people and amateur astronomy and space sciences to watch and follow these phenomena and photograph them, adding that watching them is interesting.

The Egyptian professor of astronomy stressed that all observations of astronomical phenomena do not have any harm to human health or daily activity on Earth, except for the eclipse of the sun, as looking at it with the naked eye harms it greatly. As for the rest of the astronomical phenomena and events, they are interesting to watch and loved by amateur astronomers and those interested in space sciences to follow and photograph them.
